    When Bias Compounds: Insuring Equal Justice for Women of Color in the Courts
    This model curriculum informs judges about the problems women of color face at every level and in every aspect of the judicial system, as litigants, witnesses, defendants, employees, lawyers, and judges. This curriculum prompts judges to think about actions they can take to address these problems, in order to insure women of color equal access to justice and equal participation in the judicial system. The curriculum uses a variety of interactive teaching techniques including case studies, expert presentations, small and large group discussions, role-plays and action planning. Adjudicating Allegations of Child Sexual Abuse When Custody is in Dispute
    This curriculum presents current empirical data on the subject of child sexual abuse allegations arising in the context of child custody and visitation disputes. The purpose of this curriculum is to promote the fair administration of justice by improving courts' ability to assess child sexual abuse allegations, and to make decisions in these cases that reflect the best interests of the child. The curriculum utilizes a variety of interactive teaching techniques to present this material in ways familiar to judges: factual hypotheticals, evaluating expert qualifications and testimony, and mock temporary and permanent custody and visitation orders. Understanding Sexual Violence: The Judicial Response to Stranger and Nonstranger Rape and Sexual Assault
    This model curriculum focuses on learning to deal fairly with sexual assault cases, especially nonstranger rapes, without undermining defendants' constitutional rights. Information on sexual assault is presented in the context of its implications for conduct of the pre-trial and trial process, jury selection, assessment of force and consent, evidentiary decisions, plea bargaining and sentencing. It provides the most current social science research about how different victims react during and after the assault, rape-related posttraumatic stress disorder, sex offenders and sex offender sentencing and treatment, and jurors' attitudes towards rape.

    The curriculum is presented in one volume divided into three parts.
    Part I is the Facilitator's Manual;
    Part II is the Curriculum; and
    Part III is the Readings.

    The Facilitator's Manual explains in detail how to present the curriculum; the Curriculum is the substantive content to be conveyed; and the Readings are a series of reports, articles, and excerpts that provide background about the Curriculum and allow the user to consider these subjects in greater depth. Understanding Sexual Violence: Prosecuting Adult Rape and Sexual Assault Cases
    NJEP developed this model curriculum with the American Prosecutors Research Institute (APRI) in order to provide prosecutors with tools for successful sex crimes prosecutions, especially in cases involving nonstranger rape. The curriculum covers topics such as the effects rape myths and stereotypes on charging decisions, jury selection and jury deliberations; how victim impact affects victim interviewing and preparation; drug-facilitated rape; plea offers and sentencing; as well as interviews with experts such as certified sexual assault examiners.

    The curriculum is presented in four binders and divided into three parts.
    Part I is the Faculty Manual;
    Part II is the Participant's Binder; and
    Part III is the Resources Book, Volumes I and II.

    The Faculty Manual explains in detail how to present the curriculum. The Participant's Binder is the substantive content to be conveyed.
