Objections
During the questioning of a witness, the other party may make an objection if they believe a question posed or the answer given is legally improper. This is a question of law for the judge to decide. The judge will either:
- sustain the objection: the objection has been granted and the witness does not have to answer the question; or
- overrule the objection: the objection has been denied and the witness can answer the question.
