Module 4
Victim Restitution and Compensation

Conclusion

The process of identifying expenses, compiling the necessary documentation for those expenses, and navigating the process of securing an award to cover those expenses can be tedious. Waiting for the money to be distributed can be painfully slow and frustrating for crime victims. It is helpful for advocates to understand the avenues through which victims can receive monetary compensation/restitution as a result of their experience, and what information victims need to provide to secure reimbursement for expenses.
